EASTERN SHORE LAND FOR SALE
Kent County covers approximately 179,480 land acres. The county is largely agricultural with 68%, or 122,050 acres zoned agricultural. Three hundred fourteen farms, averaging 374 acres each, comprise over 66% of Kent County’s land acres. There are 5,972 acres in parks and publicly owned open space. Another 17,150 acres are in some form of permanent preservation. A popular destination for hunting and sporting clays is Hopkins Hunting and Sporting Clays.
In Talbot County, many of the tidal wetlands have plants that are worthy of protection or unique, rare or endangered wildlife. 703 acres are preserved as county and municipal parks. The state owns 485 acres, by far the smallest amount of state-owned land in any Maryland county.
