Rock Hall Information
Rock Hall was an important tobacco port, then later a major fishing and crabbing center. Life-long residents share the waterways and cafes with seasonal boaters and tourists. While they might not offer up the local fishing hot spot, residents possess a small town America charm that is becoming more of a rarity in the mid-Atlantic.
Rock Hall is a unique destination for visitors from all over the world who enjoy boating. With its location right on the Chesapeake Bay, there are many opportunities to rent a small boat or kayak for a day. In addition, larger boats are available for bare-boat chartering and captained bay cruises.
Eastern Neck National Wildlife Refuge, is located at the confluence of the Chester River and the Chesapeake Bay on Maryland's Eastern Shore. This 2,285-acre island refuge is a major feeding and resting place for migrating and wintering waterfowl. There are seven foot trails and boardwalks, four of which are universally-accessible. Trails vary in length from less than 1/4 mile to nearly 1 ½ miles.
Rock Hall and its surrounding areas offer unlimited places to explore and all types of outdoor recreation. You can stroll through town and visit shops showcasing local artwork, crafts and antiques. Like many of the local towns, Rock Hall offers a true getaway. There are charming B&B's, Inns and restaurants with spectacular waterfront settings.
