Established in 1965, the Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum is home to the largest collection of Chesapeake Bay watercraft in the world, with an 18-acre waterfront campus featuring 12 exhibit buildings, including the 1879 Hooper Strait Lighthouse, a working boatyard, and several interactive exhibits.  A floating fleet of historic boats can be found along the museum’s waterfront, with exhibits, educational and boat restoration programming offered year round.  Signature festivals celebrating Chesapeake Bay culture, boats, seafood, and history are offered in the warmer months.
