MARYLAND EASTERN SHORE LAND AND FARMS FOR SALE

Kent County covers approximately 179,480 land acres. The county is largely agricultural with 68%, or 122,050 acres zoned agricultural. There are 314 farms, averaging 374 acres each, and comprising over 66% of Kent County’s land acres. Talbot County has over 600 miles of tidal shoreline - the most of any county in the United States - historic waterfront estates and hunting farms can be found throughout the county. A Storied Past

The Eastern Shore is known for its wildlife habitat and scenic landscape of fields, historic mansions and waterways. There is also endless waterways to explore and quiet coves for anchorage.

Kent County is bounded by the Sassafras River, Chesapeake Bay and Chester River offering extraordinary water-based recreation and waterfront home sites. Kent County has 5,972 acres in parks and publicly owned open space.  Another 17,150 acres are in some form of permanent preservation.

In Talbot County, many of the tidal wetlands have plants that are worthy of protection or unique, rare or endangered wildlife. 703 acres are preserved as county and municipal parks. The state owns 485 acres, by far the smallest amount of state-owned land in any Maryland county. Queen Anne’s County has a multitude of parks and trails throughout the whole area. The Cross Island Trail is a beautiful six-mile paved trail that wanders through woods, around creeks, a wildflower meadow and marshes.
