Life in Easton

A Storied Past

Easton Airport is located 2-miles north of town. It is a general aviation airport and provides access for corporate pilots, local businesses and aviation enthusiasts. It’s history dates back to World War II when it was constructed for use by the military. Easton experienced its first building activity following the War of 1812. Steamboats started plying the waters of Tred Avon River around 1816 and utilized Easton Point until their demise in 1932.

The historic Avalon Theatre dates back to 1921 and was restored in the 1980’s. It is a non-profit performing arts center with diverse programs, plays, musical concerts, seminars, films and community events.  Each year Easton hosts the world famous Easton Waterfowl Festival.  This very popular festival is attended by 18,000 to 20,000 visitors each year.  Easton hosts regular events such as “First Friday” evenings to visit shops, galleries and restaurants.
