Chestertown Farmer's Market is located in Fountain Park and is open Saturdays from 8:00 until 12:00. Some vendors are also there on Wednesdays 12:00 - 5:00. The 26th Annual Chestertown Holiday House Tour will be held on Saturday, December 10, 2011 from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM.  Decorated for the holidays, notable private residences and public buildings will be open on this self-paced tour.  Docents will greet you at each location and provide a tour of the interiors.

The Tree of Lights Service will take place on December 8, 2011 and is open to the public. It is a way to remember a loved one or honor someone special with the purchase of a "light" for the beautiful holly tree, which is planted next to Emmanuel Episcopal Church in downtown Chestertown.  The service includes a tree lighting ceremony and singing, followed by a simple reception.  More information at: Hospice Tree of Lights

Tall Ships, skipjacks, schooners, buyboats and wooden boats will be visiting October 27-30, 2011 for the Annual Chestertown Downrigging Weekend, Tall Ship and Wooden Boat Festival.  Downrigging Weekend has become one of Kent County’s largest events, with more than 10,000 visitors. Sail on a “Tall Ship" or go onboard for a tour. The kick-off begins on Friday with the Tall Ships Illuminated from 6:00-9:00 PM and fireworks at 7:00.  Saturday events include the Wooden Boat Show, Canon Demonstration by ‘The British Marines”, concerts, lectures and exhibits.  The Remote Control Model Sailboat Exhibition is on Sunday.  TRICK or TREAT on the “Tall Ships” will be on Sunday 2:30-4:30 PM.  Downrigging Info Link

Ghost Walks of Chestertown, October 21-22, 2011.  With over 300 years of history, Chestertown is rich in regional folklore and ghost stories. Sea captains and merchants, Revolutionary and Civil War soldiers, farmers and watermen, offer a compelling backdrop for stories passed down through generations.  Contemporary interviews with local residents and business owners offer accounts of odd tales. The Chestertown Wildlife Exhibition & Sale will be held this weekend on October 14 & 15, 2011.  This is the 32nd Annual show featuring, carvers, painters, artists and photographers.  From its inception, the show has used proceeds from its annual event to benefit the community.  Stroll downtown in the Historic District to enjoy live music, talks, demonstrations and regional foods.  There will be special events including a Wine & Beer Tasting in Fountain Park.  More information at Chestertown Wildlife Exhibition

The Chestertown Historic House Tour is this Saturday, Oct. 1, 2011 from 1:00 - 5:00.  The tour is one of the oldest regional house tours.  A dozen historic properties will be showcased including Federal period merchant’s homes, tradesmen’s cottages, Colonial mansions and charming Victorians.
